One title. Three days. Bragging rights for a full year. The Montgomery Men’s City Championship returns to Lagoon Park for 2026, and your name could be the one added to it. This is one of the area’s longest-running golf traditions, and you don’t have to be a scratch golfer to be part of it. Qualify for the Championship Flight and play for the city title, or compete in a match play flight against players right at your level. Whatever your game, there’s a flight where you can win.
Open to male golfers age 16 and older, with an open qualifier on Friday, July 24.
The Format
Open Qualifier — Friday, July 24
One round to earn your spot. Post one of the low 16 scores and you’re into the Championship Flight, playing for the title. Everyone else is placed into a match play flight grouped by ability — so the competition is real and winnable no matter where your handicap sits.
Championship Weekend — July 31 – August 2
The Championship Flight battles over 54 holes of stroke play. All other flights play head-to-head match play, where every hole counts and any round can turn the match.
